English

This week our focus has been looking at the different ways we can develop our sentences as well as using pictures as a stimulus. We explored the FANTASTICs which help to support our writing and developed these through the use of senses. We worked together as a class before writing some of our own based on different images. Great work all round!

Science

This week we looked at the animal classifications of fish. To get some hands on learning, we brought some fish in. The children looked at the fish in detail. We used magnifying glasses and investigated the scales, identified fins and found the gill marks. We later opened the sardine and found the backbone which ran through the fish. There was some great scientific enquiry.

RE

After learning about the story of Jonah and the Whale, we retold the story in our own words. We then made some story props to help us retell it. This was informed through our own whale with Jonah inside. There was some great creativity and expression given.
