Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the summer break. I am looking forward to teaching my new Elders.
Elder class learning this week:
In maths we are learning to read, write, partition and compare numbers to 10 million.
In English we are learning to write a dialogue and a diary entry based on Twelfth Night.
In science we are learning to understand conditions for life.
General information:
For the first half term (until November), PE will only be on Wednesday afternoons as the class will be having a drama session with the Theatre Royal in our other PE slot. So please just come to school in PE kits on Wednesdays starting next week (week commencing 9th September).
In English, Elder class have been looking at Twelfth Night. They wrote a dialogue between Viola/Cesario and Olivia using accurate speech punctuation. They then wrote a diary entry in role as Olivia.
On a lovely sunny Friday afternoon, Elder class read with Oak class. It was fantastic to see them sharing books together.
In art, Elder class looked at the artist Romero Britto and began to design self-portraits based on his style of pop/graffiti art.
