Elder Class 4th to 8th December 2023

Our learning next week (week commencing 11th December):

In maths we are consolidating our learning about fractions of amounts; understanding ratio and proportion; Solving problems involving ratio and proportion.

In English we are writing instructions and writing a diary based on The Snowman.

In science we are investigating the effect of voltage on components in a circuit.

Our big question this week is ‘Is it better to receive or give gifts?’

In Geography, Elders were looking at world trade and why countries trade with each other. Each group were a country and were given resources which could make money for their country. There was lots of wheeler-dealing and a realisation that no country is self-sufficient and that they all rely on other countries for resources.

Elder class made Christmas cakes ready to be decorated next week. They showed great stickability and cooperation.
