Next week’s learning:

English: Nen and the Lonely Fisherman.  Using the present perfect tense. Use descriptive phrases to capture the author’s interest. Use prepositional phrases to write descriptions. Make comparisons and explore themes. 

Maths: add and subtract two numbers using column method with no exchange. 

Science: movement- joints.

Our learning this week:

Maths:

In maths this week we have been adding and subtracting multiples of 10 and 100 using a variety of methods. These included- Base 10, place value charts and number lines. 

English:

This week we started to read Nen and the Lonely Fisherman.  We made predictions about the text from pictures and made inferences using evidence.  We completed some wonderful writing in the role of one of the characters- making sure we included all the great vocabulary we had explored.

Christmas is coming!

The children used printing to create their first Christmas card of the year.  Mrs Simpson was extremely proud of their ‘stickability’ . It was much more difficult than it looks,

Harvest Collective Worship

Reverend Lawson and Pam visited to perform our Harvest collective worship. Two children from Lime Class were chosen to help. They were super stars!
