Willow – 10th – 14th June 2024

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: In English this week Willow will be developing a leaflet for West Stow following our trip there on Friday.

Maths: In maths this week we will finishing off our unit on converting units and beginning our unit on volume, the focus will be on cubic centimetres and comparing and estimating volume.

Science – Our new unit after half term is on Reversible and Irreversible changes. This lesson will focus on evaporating, filtering and sieving.

Big Question – What’s the most valuable thing in the world?

Have a look below to see what we’ve been up to this week:

On Wednesday Spinning Wheel Theatre came back to perform the show that Year 5 helped to develop. Which was amazing! They then took part in a series of workshops including: making necklaces, making pinch pots and writing their names using runes.

Another great forest school session complete with rope swing, popcorn, herby potion making and charcoal drawing.

The class had a great time at West Stow on Friday. They looked at what the Anglo-Saxon houses would have been like, how they were constructed, what the different buildings were used for and studied artefacts from Anglo-Saxon times. I think many of them will remember the coprolite (fossilised poo)!
