Willow 20th – 24th May 2024

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: In this first unit after half term, we will be reading the abridged version of Twelfth Night. The class will ultimately construct a comic strip of this Shakespearian play.  

Maths: In maths after half term we are going to be begin by looking at Negative numbers, this is a short unit with the focus on counting through negative numbers in 1s and multiples, ordering and comparing negative numbers and finding the difference.

Science – Our new unit after half term is on Reversible and Irreversible changes. With the first lesson focused on dissolving.  

Big Question – Would the world be a better place if we all looked the same?

In Science this week Willow have begun an investigation into cloning plants (Geraniums). They have taken cuttings from various parts of the plant in order to see which will grow the tallest. 

In art this week the class added the mod-roc to their wire figures. The next step is to add some clay feet so they can stand and then paint them a bronze colour to look like Giacometti’s sculptures.
