Willow Class, 11th – 15th November 2024

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: In English this week we will be continuing to use the folk tale – The Firebird – with the aim of creating our own, similar stories.

Maths: This will be our final week on Fractions for a while with the focus being on subtracting fractions – breaking the whole, subtracting fractions and subtracting two mixed numbers.

Science – Our new topic in science is Space. This week we will be focusing on the Earth.

In our class discussions this week we will be starting to focus on oracy skills with in our weekly, Life’s Big Questions.

Have a look below to see what we’ve been up to this week:

As part of the England Rocks TTRS campaign this week KS2 all dressed up in their finest rock star attire. Well done everyone for getting involved!

In PE this term we are looking at Dance by Chance – this means a series of numbers, a telephone number of postcode, make up a series of movements. This week focused on the dynamics of how the movements might be done. Including: slowly, robotically, explosively and heavily. Well done Willow Class for having a go!

DT this week focused on traditional desserts for England. After a discussion on what these were and whether they were healthy or not, Willow collectively made an Eton Mess which we then all tried. Finally, they came up with their own variations. Perhaps you could make this with your child at home next weekend?
