This week in Willow Class we will be:
English: In English we continue with our top based on the text ‘When we walked on the moon’. We will spend some time analysing the text before moving on to planning our writing, using role play, discussing based tasks and writing models.
Maths: In maths we are moving on to our second topic of the half term which is addition and subtraction. We will be beginning by looking at mental strategies, adding and subtracting whole numbers with more than four digits, rounding to check our answers and using the inverse rule.
Science – We are continuing to look at forces this week with our focus being on water resistance.
Big Question: Why do we have rules?
Have a look below to see what we’ve been up to this week:
In science today we began designing an experiment into the effect of air resistance and the size of the parachute.
We also had a go at using the running parachute to see if it really did slow us down when we were running. I know lots of children wanted to do this so we will try to repeat it next week as well.
