Willow Class, 9th – 13th June 2025

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: In English this week, we will be finishing off the opening chapter of the Nowhere Emporium. Then they will be writing their own version of an adventure story.

Maths: This week we will be continuing our learning on converting measures. We will be focusing on imperial and metric measure, converting units of time and converting units of length.

Science – Our new topic in science is reversible and irreversible changes. Our next lesson will be on separating materials – filtering and sieving.

Big Question: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

Have a look below to see what we‘ve been up to this week:

Another fantastic session of Forest Schools – clay modelling, perfume making, baked chocolate bananas and lastly tree climbing! Great stickability and support shown by all, well done Willow Class!

In art this week we have starting studying a sculpture – Alberto Giacometti. He looked at the human form as moments of stillness. Willow started by sketching each other in fixed poses. They then began shaping thin metal into the outline of their figures. Next we will cover them with mod-roc, a plaster like substance.

In computing Willow have been looking at motion and moving pictures. They begun by making some very simple flip books – they work brilliantly.
