This week in Willow Class we will be:
English: In English this week, we will be continuing with The Nowhere Emporium.
Maths: In decimals this week we will be finishing the unit of negative numbers looking at comparing and ordering and finding the different. We will then begin our topic on converting units. Our first two lessons will be on converting between millilitres and litres and kilometres and metres.
Science – Our new topic in science is reversible and irreversible changes. Our first lesson will be on dissolving.
Big Question: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?
Have a look below to see what we‘ve been up to this week:
On Thursday, year 5 joined year 3 and 4 for a special live writing lesson in conjunction with TTRS and the writing website Pobble. They wrote some amazing pieces about the character of Sam who found a secret gig!
Willow had a fantastic first Forest School session, making potions, mud slides, camp fire damper bread and hammock swinging.
In English this week we were writing about rich warming smells. I asked the class to close their eyes (which they did very trustingly) while Mrs Plummer and I gave them chocolate, mixed spice, coconut and vanilla to smell – they came up with some great vocabulary afterwards.
We finished the day on Friday with a very informative assembly on sun safety.
