Welcome to Oak Class!

Our Teachers are Mrs Bolton and Mrs Parsons and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Guy.

Notices & Reminders

Oak class come into school from 8.40 – 8.50 via the Oak class front door. Children need to be collected from the same door between 3.00 – 3.10.

Oak class have PE on a Tuesday morning and Friday afternoon – please send children in their PE kits.

Week Beginning: 2nd November 2020

English: Autumn and Bonfire Night – adjectives and sentence writing.

Maths: Part whole model and introducing addition.

Science: An Autumn walk – literacy link.

Phonics: Start learning the phase 5a sounds – ay, ou, ie and ea.

Here’s what we’ve been up to….

Week Beginning: 19th October 2020

The red monsters won the half term team treat, they had great fun making hedgehog cupcakes……….

We had a great time looking for acorns as part of our ‘Seed to Tree’ morning. We then planted our acorns in the tree nursery with Elizabeth….

We have enjoyed music this week. We were working on the song ‘Hey You!’ and enjoyed using the glockenspiels…….

We had great fun in PE this week with Tom. We had a go at archery and curling….

Week Beginning: 12th October 2020

We have had such a busy week! We have enjoyed our final Forest School session…..

We wrote some super sentences for our display about our trip to Hollowtrees Farm – we used actions to help us remember the punctuation….

We did observational drawings of different fruit and vegetables using chalk pastels, it was fun but messy!

Week Beginning: 5th October 2020

We had a brilliant day at Hollowtrees Farm. We were farmers for the day and helped to plant seeds, harvest different vegetables and feed the animals. We also had lots of fun playing!………

We made bread roll hedgehogs earlier in the week, we were thinking about harvest and how bread is made…

We had a great time at forest schools……

We took part in a virtual cross country event, we had to run around the field 4 times! Great stickability…..

We then had a lovely rest whilst listening to a ‘relax kids’ story…..

Week Beginning: 28th September 2020

We had great fun jumping in different ways in PE….

We have been working hard in maths, one more / one less…..

We had another great week at forest schools….

Week Beginning: 21st September 2020

We have had a really busy week in Oak class. The children have settled in so well and really impressed me in many ways!

We had a brilliant time on Wednesday afternoon at Forest Schools……

In English we followed instructions and made a jam sandwich linked to the story ‘The Giant Jam Sandwich’….

Week Beginning: 14th September 2020

We went on a walk to the fields near our school. We talked about farming and described our route as part of English.

We have been very busy in maths sorting objects and creating number sentences….

In Science we looked for wild flowers and plants, we found lots and lots …..

We has a virtual whole school assembly with Mrs Lamb….

We have been having fun in our classroom……

We have been busy making our display…

We have started daily dough disco to help with our handwriting….

We have been planting lettuce and cress seeds in Science….

We have been busy outside….

Week Beginning: 31st Aug 2020

We have been really busy exploring our classroom. We had a fun first PE lesson where we played lots of running games.
