Next week’s learning:
English: The street beneath my feet- explanation text. Alliteration, inverted commas for dialogue, imperative verbs, repetition for effect and exclamation sentences. Writing their own explanation text independently.
Spelling focus- ‘ly’ added to words with no spelling change.
Maths: Multiplication and division- scaling problems. Length and perimeter: measuring in metres and centimetres. Measuring in millimetres.
Science: soil- Investigating soils- planning an experiment.
This week's learning:
In maths this week we have investigated division. We started by using base10 to help us model questions. Before learning some informal written methods. We then used Base10 equipment to learn about remainders.
D.T. We had two lessons of D.T. this week. In the first lesson, the children learnt about circuits and used the equipment to light a bulb and make a buzzer sound. In the second lesson, the children investigated switches and made a variety of them using equipment from the classroom.
In French this week, the children learnt about classroom instructions.
