Next week, we are learning....
Literacy– Next week,
we will be reading the story ‘The Hundred Decker Bus’. We will be drawing and
writing new decks to create our own 100 decker bus. We will also be writing
labels for our transport pictures we will be creating on the Ipads.
Maths– Next
week, we will be focusing on composition of numbers to 10 and introduce what
numbers add together to make 10. We will learn the number bond song and explore
lots of different resources to make 10.
Phonics– Next
week, we will continue Phase 3 Mastery of our phonics programme Unlocking
Letters and Sounds. We will be revisiting the phonemes ure and er and common
exception word ‘her’.
Topic/UTW– We will
be learning about transport this week. We will explore how transport has
changed from the past to the present and we are looking forward to 3 different
vehicles visiting us next week!
This week, we have been learning...
Maths
This week, we have been focusing on numbers 9 and 10. We celebrated these numbers by creating and finding different representations of them and then looked at comparing numbers up to 9 and 10. We played a game of ‘Grab and Count’ where we played against each other to grab counters from a plate, count them out and compare who had more and fewer. We really enjoyed this game and it got rather competitive!!
DT- Space Rockets
We made space rockets this week using junk modelling. We had to listen to the instructions and follow each part. We experimented with different ways to attach and had to use stickability to keep going. We were really proud of our final creations.
