This week, we have been learning...

UTW- Seed to Tree- Walk to Golden Wood

This week, we took part in the school’s Seed to Tree programme. We talked about the different trees linked to the class names and then walked through the village spotting all the trees on the way. We arrived at Golden Wood and learnt about the history of the wood and some of the special trees that have grown there. Finally we went minibeast hunting and built minibeast homes for them in groups.

EAD- Symmetrical Butterflies

This week, we have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We talked about different types f butterflies and noticed the patterns on their wings. We learnt about what symmetry means and had a go at printing our own symmetrical butterflies. We squeezed paint onto one side of a butterfly template, folded over and pressed down. We loved revealing the finished butterfly and made some amazing patterns!

Literacy- I can see sentences

Most days, we spent time in Acorn class practising writing simple sentences. Mrs M puts on some pictures on the board and we write what we can see. Look at some of our super independent sentences!
