This week we have been learning....
Maths
This week has been all about the numbers 1,2 and 3. We discussed how numbers can be found in different representations and we had a go at sorting these representations to match the correct numeral. We learnt about subitising and played lots of games recognising dot patterns and talking about their different arrangements.
EAD- Colour Mixing
We talked about colours and learnt about the primary colours. Mrs M set the Acorns a challenge to see if they could make new colours using red, yellow and blue. We put two of the colours in ziplock bags and squished them together to create new colours. We discovered we could make orange, green and purple. We really enjoyed this sensory activity and even practised writing our names in the paint too!
PD- Fine and Gross Motor skills
In Acorn class, we are always challenging the Acorns to exercise their finger, elbow and shoulder muscles so we have strong hands for all the writing and drawing we love to do! This week’s challenges we particularly popular. We had to travel on the stilts, squeeze the sponges to fill up the cups, balance the marbles on the mats and put the ‘fire’ out by using the spray bottles.
