Next Week:
Literacy– Next week we will be introducing our new text ‘Look Up’ by Nathan Byron. We will be using our story friends to sequence the story!
Phonics- Next week, we will be continuing our Phase 3 Phonics. We will be introducing and learning how to recognise and say the digraphs ch, sh, th, ng as well as developing our segmenting to read skills and our use of whiteboard time. We will also be practicing our common exception words ‘we have learnt so far and learning the CEW’s ‘he’ and ‘she’
Maths – Next week we will be exploring and learning how to identify circles and triangles as well as develop our positional language.
Topic/UTW– Next week we will learning all about the planets in our Solar System!
This week we have been learning…
Maths – This week we have been learning how to make compositions of 1, 2 and 3. Finding the numbers hiding within a number!
UTW/Topic – This week we have been learning about Rememberance Day and why it is important. We made our own poppy wreath and took part in the two minutes silence.
Literacy – Acorn class really enjoyed our book ‘Star in the Jar’ by Sam Hay. They have been doing some fantastic writing about different parts of the story using their segmenting skills.
Phonics- This week we have continued our Phase 3 Phonics. We will be introducing and learning how to recognise and say the sounds y, z, zz, qu as well as developing our segmenting to read skills and our use of whiteboard time. We will also learnt the CEW’s ‘be’ and ‘we’.
