Next week, we are learning….
Literacy– Next week, we will be reading ‘Tiddler’ by Julia Donaldson and thinking about writing sentences for what Tiddler might say next!
Maths– Next week, we will be exploring odds and evens. We will begin to identify which numbers have an ‘odd’ one out and using strategies to check whether a number is odd or even.
Phonics– Next week, we will be starting week 2 of Phase 4 Mastery of our phonics programme Unlocking Letters and Sounds. We will be revising adjacent consonants and we will be practicing Common Exception words ‘like’, ‘so’ and ‘do’.
Topic/UTW– We will be starting our exciting new topic of ‘Under the Sea’!
This week, we have been learning….
Maths
This week, we have been learning about sharing and grouping. The children have used concrete resources to practice how to share equally and also to find out the different ways we can group amounts. Lots of fantastic problem soling and mathematical reasoning has occurred!
Literacy
This week, we have been writing sentences about the character and adventures of Pink Panther for Drawing Club! Acorn class have been really impressing us with their sentence writing skills as well as their descriptive language.
UTW- Seasons – Summer
This week we have been revisiting learning about the four seasons with a focus on Summer. Acorn class have shared their amazing knowledge and understanding. We took another photo of the tree outside, finding it covered in leaves for summer! The children have also drawn some beautiful seasonal trees of their own.
