Willow Class, 5th – 9th May 2025

This week in Willow Class we will be:

English: In English this week we will be starting a new topic on the narrative poem – The Jabberwocky. We will be looking at nonsense words, inferring description and will try and learn the poem off by heart as a class.

Maths: In decimals this week we will be looking at adding decimals, subtracting decimals and then adding and subtracting decimals with a different number of decimal places.

Science – Our new topic in science is Reproduction. This week we will be looking at the reproductive parts of plants.

Big Question: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

Have a look below to see what we‘ve been up to this week:

In English this week, Willow have been completing their comic strips on Twelfth Night. They wrote short narrative sections, drew images and planned the character’s dialogue. I have been so impressed with their dedication to this project – just look how fantastic they are! Well done Willows.

In DT this week, Willow were looking at the relationship between arch height and load. They found that the higher the arch height, the more mass the arch could support. They used a simple experiment of card and weights to do this.
